Step 1 apply with us

It's really up to you, but we recommend that you wait until after your 12-week scan. Ideally, you should have at least one month left before your due date as its best not to rush your decision, there's some important paperwork to be completed and we need to make sure you have the collection kit in time for your baby's birth.

Once you've decided to join cell safe bank, you'll speak to one of our knowledgeable and friendly customer support advisors. The initial parts of your application can be sorted out on the phone - we'll talk you through the process involved in arranging your collection, and explain what happens next.

There's an initial fee of 2000 LE after which we'll send you some paperwork to fill in and sign followed by the all-important collection kit.

One month before delivery , lab tests will be performed ,a small blood sample from the mother is taken by your health care professional which we will then test to check for viruses or infection. when lab tests are negative it is followed by completing the fees,please see this what’s the cost?.

Step 2 Sampling

The health care professional will use the collection kit to take blood from the umbilical cord - this usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes. It can be done before or after the placenta has been delivered, but always after your baby has been born and the umbilical cord has been cut.

Step 3 processing

• Your baby's cord blood stem cell unit is tested to check, among other things, how many stem cells there are.

When we know that everything is ok, the stem cell unit is divided into two portions - for your exclusive use in the private bank. Both portions are then placed in safe storage.

Once all the testing is completed we'll get in touch to tell you the results.

Step 4 storing

Once the results of cord blood sample are confirmed as clear, we're then allowed to place the cord blood unit into long-term cryogenic storage. (This just means that it is kept safe at an extremely low temperature.)

Ensuring the safe storage of cord blood stem cells is very important and, as you'd expect, our storage facilities comply with the highest standards. Once everything is safely stored, we'll send you a certificate of storage e included on an international barecode registry which is approved internationally.
